Im looking forward to trying this program out but I cant get anything to work!

Database issues

I get the message 'You need a newer version of the Database to continue' if I try to launch any of the modules. Ok so fine I then downloaded the database upgrade. Well that installation process just skips to the 'finish' screen with an error message 'Stop statement encountered'. Hmm ok so I double check the installation instructions - everything's ok there. Ive used the 'to upgrade' as per instructions. Ive launched it from my download directory, from the MP3 Utiliites directory, from my root directory and from my MP3 library directory. Nothing works , same message. Ive rebooted, reinstalled, repaired, etc. Not encouraged.

When I try to launch the Browser it just freezes on the splash screen.

I consider myself fairly proficient when it comes to PCs and software but I just cant get this to work. My system usually runs quite smoothly and is kept up to date with drivers, windows update etc. The only thing I can guess is that maybe this program requires Winamp 2 and I use Winamp 3.

Windows 98, Explorer 6.0.28, Mozilla 1.3, WinAmp 3.0c

Celeron 450, 266M pc133

First of all, MP3 Organizer is not compatible with Winamp 3, so if you want to play the MP3s with a double-click on it, you should install Winamp 2, as well. There are no problems to have them both installed in your system (since I have them installed on mine). Anyway, this should not be the problem at all.

By the way, are you sure you're running the latest version of Upgrade.exe. Since there were some changes to the database, previous versions of Upgrade.exe might not work. Check if its version is 1.0.6. If it's not, I suggest you to download the proper update from http://emilianomartin.com.ar/MP3%20Organizer/downloads.asp#Updates

If you are still having problems with the latest version of upgrade, I'd need you to zip me the MP3s.mdb file and send it by email to me. I might not get any problem with the tests I might try. Probably some of the information in the database is hunging the Upgrade.exe process.

If you don't get the Upgrade.exe working you will not be able to run the Organizer... the browser either.

I can tell you how to solve this issue, manually without the need of the Upgrade.exe., but only if you know how to use MS Access (and have it installed, obviously). If you do, and want a faster answer... send me your ICQ UIN or MSN email.

You can install Winamp 5, as well.
